7th Responsible Business Forum on Sustainable Development

‘Shaping the World in 2030: Partnerships for SDG Action’ is this year’s theme for the 7th Responsible Business Forum on Sustainable Development, being hosted by Global Initiatives and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), 10-12 October 2018, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

This year’s theme emphasises the need to move beyond theory to identify clear pathways to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It points to a new, collaborative process for action-driven outcomes and practical solutions, across five critical areas – Climate Action, Urbanisation, Human Rights, Circular Economy and Food & Nutrition

The Forum will convene more than 700 leaders from business, government, UN agencies and NGOs, all working towards the achievement of the SDGs. Participants will commit to ambitious, measurable, outcomes, as a benchmark for future success.

With its vast on-the-ground networks and ability to adapt and innovate quickly, the private sector has a critical role to play in bringing new solutions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by their 2030 target” said Achim Steiner, UNDP Administrator. “Partnerships and collaboration between the private sector, development agencies like UNDP, and governments, can go a long way in helping to create an enabling environment for business to thrive.  By working together to ethically and sustainably create value, we can benefit not just the bottom line, but also the bottom billion.”

#SHAPE2030 will be launched as a call-to-action campaign, for ideas and solutions that address the world’s social, economic and environmental challenges.
