Solutions Snapshot 17: Community based river management

How can a community participate in river management? What are the resources needed for successful river conservation? In this solution snapshot, we explore the various community-based river management practices that was carried out under UNDP’s Mainstreaming of Biodiversity Conservation into River Management project. The project  emphasizes on community empowerment and the use of traditional knowledge for a holistic approach to riverine biodiversity management.
