  • Malaysia ratified the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on July 13, 1994 and the Kyoto Protocol on 4 September 2002. As part of the obligations assumed as a party of the UNFCCC, the Government of Malaysia submitted its Initial National Communication in 2000 and the Second National Communication was submitted in January of 2011 with the help of the UNDP/GEF.

  • UNDP in October 2012 launched the Biodiversity Finance Initiative – BIOFIN, as a new global partnership seeking to address the biodiversity finance challenge in a comprehensive manner

  • this project will pursue is to maintain the integrity of aquatic ecosystems through mainstreaming biodiversity considerations into river basin management.
